Martin Scorcese is to direct a movie of Lehane’s Shutter Island, and you can read an except from it on the Newsweek website.

    Well, bless Lehane for choosing a book as fine as James Crumley’s LAST GOOD KISS. Crumley is the BEST crime novelist America has ever produced (hear that, fans of Parker, Hammett, Connelly, et all?) and leaves writers like Lehane very much in the shade. Try some Crumley and you’ll see what I mean…
